Lately I’ve been on the prowl for a fresh NYC cultural experience. Turns out I’m in luck because the Moma has a great exhibition series where the worlds of movement, theatre, and visual art collide. The series features pieces from a roster of artists including Trisha Brown, Allora and Calzadilla, and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. Instead of staring at a two-dimensional piece of art hung on a wall, audience members view the work as artists perform it in real time. If you dare to get out there and face the snow this weekend, check out the current performance featuring NYC-based Ralph Lemon. He uses dance and visual art to present a 40-minute duet exploring the raw energy that exists between two bodies moving in space. His performances are on January 29th and 30th at 3PM and are included with the price of museum admission. See you there! For more information about the exhibit click here.
